Thick Smoke Towers Above Texas Chemical Plant Blaze

Flames and towering columns of thick smoke were seen rising from a large fire burning at a chemical plant facility in Pasadena, Texas, late on Thursday, March 12. Officials said multiple agencies responded to the fire which occurred at a chemical process unit at LyondellBasell’s BayPort site on Bay Area Boulevard. No injuries were reported and no action is required by the public. Harris County Pollution Control is conducting air monitoring in areas surrounding the facility, according to officials.
