Trump Vows to Secure Greenland From Russia and China, Says He “Saved NATO”
President Donald Trump said the United States must secure Greenland to prevent China or Russia from gaining control, warning that he will not allow rival powers to expand their influence in the Arctic. Speaking to reporters, Trump said he would prefer a deal with Greenland, but insisted that “one way or another, we’re going to have Greenland.” He also pushed back on concerns about NATO, saying he forced allies to dramatically increase defense spending and questioning whether the alliance would defend the U.S. if called upon.
