Vance Addresses Cuba Shooting, Weighs In on Iran Nuclear Threat
Vice President J. D. Vance said he has been briefed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio after Cuba reported that its soldiers killed four people aboard a Florida-registered speedboat near its northern coast. Vance said the White House is closely monitoring the situation, adding, “Hopefully, it’s not as bad as we fear it could be.” It remains unclear whether any U.S. citizens were among the victims. The vice president was also pressed on tensions with Iran, reiterating that Tehran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon while expressing hope that upcoming diplomatic talks in Geneva will ease tensions.
