LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen have been friends for over 35 years and the revelation brewed on the December 21 episode of 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'.

During the conversation, Colbert shared pictures from the mid-90s featuring the two friends, teasing Cooper about his hairstyle and fashion decisions from that era.

'When we first met we never had the blind date'

Colbert began the show, "Look at those people over there aren't they lovely it's Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper you've been friends for over 35 years".

"We got pictures of you guys back in the day from around the time you first met 25 years ago. This was like mid 90s. Brace yourself America that's young Anderson," Colbert continued placing the picture right beside Cooper and comparing his 'now' look with the previous picture. "We've only changed the color palette".

Cohen humorously suggested reporting the story as Colbert and advised using a byte stick for it. There was a mention of being set up on a date in the 1990s, with Colbert questioning if they "actually had a date".

"When we first met we never had the blind date," Cooper said.

The conversation took a comedic turn as they discussed hair growth and whether they would be friends as transformed individuals.

'Both of you simulate being a mammal'

It turns out, despite the initial reluctance and avoidance, they ended up going on vacation together and discovered that the transformed individual is actually a wonderful person and the life of the party.

Cooper mentioned, "We never had the dare. I wanted nothing to do with him. We went on vacation together and found he is actually a wonderful person and the life of the party".

Cohen chimed in, "And all evidence to the contrary honestly you're palatable and I found that you are actually more lifelike than you here."

Colbert sensed the humour and added, "That's true you both you simulate being a mammal. Very well okay let's keep it let's keep it friendly...you both have two adorable kids".

In the midst of the lively and humorous conversation, Colbert brought up the topic of kids, addressing Anderson and mentioning that he heard they are excited about Christmas. Both Cooper and Cohen chimed in, confirming that their excitement for Christmas was kicking in.
