LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent interview on the 'Late Show With Stephen Colbert', CNN anchor Anderson Cooper spoke about his 35-year long friendship with comedian and TV host Andy Cohen.

Colbert also showed pictures of the two from the mid-90s and joked about Cooper's hair and fashion choices back then.

Andy Cohen recalls his son saying 'We are Jewish. We celebrate Hanukkah'

Amid a lively and humorous conversation, Colbert asked them, "You have two adorable kids, and Anderson, I hear they are excited about Christmas".

"It is kicking in," they both chimed in.

Cooper said, "I was asking him what he wants for Christmas and he wanted to make a list. I got a crayon out and wrote down his instructions. He wants a really big car. I said, 'how big a car' and he said 'this big'", portraying the size in hand gesture.

He continued, "I thought, okay. The rest of the list as he wants two candy canes, a rainbow, a pillow and knees. I don't know what that means. He has two perfectly good knees".

Colbert then asked Cohen, "How is Christmas in your house?"

Cohen replied, "This is the year he has found out he is Jewish. We have lit the menorah every year. He is almost five. He is telling everyone in the neighborhood, we are Jewish. We celebrate Hanukkah".

In the festive discussion, the conversation turned to the beloved iconography of Christmas, with a mention of Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa sending gingerbread houses to both the celebs' house.

The hosts expressed admiration for the beautiful and unbelievable gingerbread houses they received, setting the stage for a humorous struggle at home.

The dilemma emerged as Ben (Cohen's son), would excitedly scamper downstairs to devour the gingerbread house.

Cohen then pondered the challenge of explaining to a "kid that a house made of cookies is not meant to be eaten", highlighting the delightful chaos and joys of the holiday season.

Cohen talked about 'removing his son from Macy's day parade'

After a short break, the show resumed with Colbert saying to Cohen, "Your son, Andy, had an opportunity that very few people have at all".

Cohen replied, "He got to meet Cher. He was in the middle of a major tantrum because I was removing him from the Macy's day parade".

In a delightful anecdote, Cohen then shared a memorable experience involving Santa Claus and a Macy's encounter. For Cohen's son, Santa "symbolized the end of a parade", and when he was removed, the disappointment was palpable.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn when they randomly ran into someone at Macy's. The encounter led to a humorous moment as the host explained how their child, Ben, was reluctant to leave.

To everyone's surprise, his son ran into Cher who said, "If Ben didn't want to leave, then they should just stay".

The story captured the whimsical and spontaneous nature of holiday experiences Cohen had with his son.
