Donald Trump's tax break offers $70K benefit per year
Donald Trump is working to extend the tax cuts established by his 2017 legislation, lowering the taxes for most Americans, as established by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
However, it mostly benefited the highest earners, the presidential hopeful is now proposing to eliminate taxes on tips and Social Security income and also reduce the corporate tax rate.
Gordon-Levitt in his social media post said 'no thanks' to Trump’s $70K tax break offering, reported The Blast.
"So Donald Trump wants to give me $70,000 in tax cuts per year, and by the way, he doesn't want to give that to everybody," the actor said at the beginning of the video post. "But I just read that's the average tax break for the top 1% if Donald Trump is elected president: $70,000."
"Well, you might say he's gonna give tax breaks to everybody, but not really 'cause of all the tax cuts, of all that money, nearly half of it is gonna go to just the top 5% of people," Gordon-Levitt added.

Slamming the proposal, the 43-year-old explained, "Now, do I need an extra $70,000? Honestly no, my family and I are doing fine," Joseph Gordon-Levitt said.
"Do I deserve an extra $70,000? I don't think so. It doesn't feel right to me. Especially when he's also talking about cutting programs that help most people in our country."
"If you want to talk about whose really going to help most Americans, it's Kamala," he said, supporting the current Vice President Kamala Harris "Trump's gonna help the same people he always tries to help, the wealthy. Himself. He was born a wealthy guy."
"And look, I completely respect needing to vote for the candidate that's gonna make it easier for your family, but Donald Trump isn't that candidate," Gordon-Levitt said. "Donald Trump's trying to give me $70,000, so Mr. Trump, thank you, but no thanks."
