WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump's latest appearance at the Moms for Liberty event turned controversial as he attacked Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her a "defective person."

The GOP presidential nominee spoke at length, mocking his rival's interview skills and lack of media appearances, as he sat on stage with the conservative organization's co-founder, Tiffany Justice, on Friday, August 30, in Washington, DC.

According to a video clip from the event shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Newsmax, Trump weighed in on Harris' first major interview as the Democratic nominee.

"I think she would have been better off if she just had interviews, even if they weren't great; it would have been better than because now everyone's watching. And now we see she's defective. She's a defective person," he said.

Donald Trump claims upcoming debate with Kamala Harris is hosted by the 'worst' network

Kamala Harris' limited media presence, despite entering the presidential race in July, became a focal point of Trump's criticisms. After her first interview with CNN's Dana Bash on August 29, the MAGA leader intensified his attacks.

As Trump remarked that it was "much easier to be a Democrat," the Moms for Liberty co-founder added that one didn't even need to do interviews.

"That's right. You don't have to do anything. We saw that the other night. And you won't see too many more interviews," the ex-president said in agreement.

He then discussed his upcoming first presidential debate with Harris, set to be hosted by ABC News on September 10. Trump claimed that the vice president was initially reluctant to debate, but they ended up with the network they preferred, though he did not directly name ABC News.

"This network is the worst of all," he continued before mentioning George Stephanopoulos by mockingly mispronouncing the ABC host's name.

He further claimed that he was approached to participate in the debate, similar to how he was for his CNN face-off with President Joe Biden.

Trump criticized Harris' CNN interview, accusing her of flip-flopping on her earlier stance on fracking and suggesting that her answers were being fed to her.

He remarked, "I was surprised she didn't do a lot of interviews, but she's not good at it, I guess. And they knew that. They knew something that we didn't know," before labeling Harris a "defective person."

"Trump was the defective president," another added.
