WASHINGTON, DC: Ahead of their highly anticipated election rematch, President Biden mentioned on Friday, March 8, that he might choose not to debate with former President Donald Trump, as per the NY Post.

Speaking to reporters as he left the White House for a campaign journey to Philadelphia, he stated, "It depends on his behavior."

Responding to rumors suggesting that the current officeholder might avoid traditional venues to limit the presumed Republican nominee's access to comparatively unregulated TV airtime, Trump asserted on Wednesday that Biden would need to agree to debate him.

Trump calls for debates as election season heats up

Trump posted on his Truth Social account, "It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People. Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!"

Following Nikki Haley's withdrawal from the race, the longest general presidential election in modern memory commenced, and Trump now seeks to engage in debates.

Despite being called a "chicken" by one of his rivals, Chris Christie, for missing five primary debates, the former president is now eager to participate.

During the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, Trump and Biden participated in two debates, during which the former reality TV star scrutinized Biden's policies and his alleged role in his son and brother's international business dealings.

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Despite the former president leading Biden by an average of 1.8% in national surveys, an unprecedented challenge lies ahead as the candidate is confronting up to four criminal prosecutions before the election.

Moreover, Trump is striving to achieve what hasn't been done since Democrat Grover Cleveland 132 years ago, aiming to become the first president since then and only the second overall to win non-consecutive terms in office.

Internet mocks Joe Biden

Several internet users mocked Joe Biden as he stated that he could decline to confront former President Donald Trump and it "depends on his behavior."

A user on X posted, "We all know why he won't debate," whereas another added, "I don't think there's enough Adderall available for Biden to have to think for himself without a teleprompter or note cards telling him what to say."

A user also said, "If he can’t debate his political rival, he can’t be president," while one added, "There's no chance Biden's handlers will allow him to debate Trump. NONE."

A user also commented, "Oh, please.. there is no way he could debate Trump." [sic]
