Wendy Williams' ex Kevin Hunter Sr 'furious' over new Lifetime docu on troubled TV host, source says
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams' former husband and manager, Kevin Hunter Sr, has allegedly expressed his deep dissatisfaction and rage over the upcoming Lifetime documentary 'Where is Wendy Williams?' about the troubled talk show host.
According to a source in Williams' inner circle, Hunter Sr, 51, was extremely let down by the film and was taken aback by the negative portrayal of his ex-spouse in the 'Where is Wendy Williams?' trailer, as per The US Sun.
Kevin Hunter Sr 'shocked to see his ex-wife portrayed in such a negative light'
Besides Williams' close friends and family, Hunter Sr is equally shocked by the documentary 'Where is Wendy Williams?' and is worried about how it will affect the TV personality's legacy.
A source noted, "Kevin was shocked to see his ex-wife portrayed in such a negative light in the Lifetime trailer."
They added, "He found the scene in the trailer showing Wendy yelling over a bottle of vodka and appearing disoriented in the middle of New York City were 'very sad' to see."
The insider further revealed that Hunter Sr, also known as Big Kev, expressed his "fury" that his former partner was "still being exploited to that level," disclosing that he had vehemently opposed the documentary from the beginning, believing it would further damage Williams' reputation.
In July 2021, the TV personality announced her departure from her long-running talk show, 'The Wendy Williams Show', amid persistent legal and health issues, closing a major chapter in her career.
The two-part Lifetime documentary, scheduled to air on February 24 and 25, follows her downward spiral after the conclusion of her talk show.
In one disturbing instance, Williams is seen sitting in the backseat of a black car, her face getting thinner and thinner. The teaser features a particularly upsetting scene where she claims to have no money.
The documentary also shows the media personality's bewilderment and lack of awareness of her surroundings, even when she drives around Manhattan, which has been her home for years, as per the preview.
Meanwhile, in other clips from a never-released video from a Women's Expo, the former radio host is shown tripping over her words, needing help to stand, and trying to stay upright, as per Radar Online.
Kevin Hunter Sr didn't want son Kevin Hunter Jr to participate in the Lifetime documentary
Hunter Sr and Williams' son, Hunter Jr, apparently decided to join in the documentary even though his father had reportedly told him not to, believing it would not be in his best interests.
An insider noted, "Little Kev was repeatedly advised that it was a bad look to be involved in this project and that it was not in his best interest to have his name attached to it."
The aftermath of Williams' turbulent personal and professional life is still being felt as the docuseries' premiere date approaches, raising worries about her future in the media and causing conflicting reactions.
