LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Vice President Kamala Harris is facing backlash after a fiery speech in Los Angeles, where she branded members of the Trump administration “motherf*****s” and “crazy.”

The remarks, made at the A Day of Unreasonable Conversation summit on Monday, October 6, quickly went viral and drew a mocking response from the White House, which took aim at her trademark laugh.

Harris, who is currently promoting her memoir '107 Days', delivered her unfiltered comments while discussing misinformation and chaos in American politics.

“There is so much about this moment that is trying to make people feel like they’ve lost their minds, when in fact, these motherf*****s are crazy,” she said, earning cheers from the Los Angeles crowd. Moments later, she broke into her familiar laugh, the same one critics have dubbed a “cackle.”

White House claps back

The White House didn’t waste time firing back. In a statement to TMZ, spokesperson Kush Desai said, “Kamala Harris should listen to an audio recording of her cackle of a laugh before calling anyone crazy.”

The jab wasn’t subtle; it tapped into a long-running critique of Harris’ laughter, which detractors often describe as awkward or out of place. Supporters, however, say it’s simply her authentic response under pressure.

Kamala Harris’ laugh has long been mocked and also loved

The vice president’s laugh has been under scrutiny since her 2020 campaign. During debates, interviews, and even casual appearances, her booming laugh often became a viral talking point.

Critics claimed she used it to deflect tough questions, including when then-President Donald Trump accused her of being a Marxist during their 2020 debate.

But Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, has always defended it with affection. Speaking at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, he recalled falling for her over the phone years ago.

“She called me back and we talked for an hour. We laughed, you know that laugh! I love that laugh,” Emhoff said, drawing applause.

Kamala Harris' book tour sparks more fiery moments

Harris’ controversial remarks in LA weren’t her first headline of the week. A day earlier, at a San Francisco event, she unleashed another expletive-laced tirade about political accountability.

“Part of this moment requires us to also debunk some of this stuff they’re trying to sell the American people,” she said, before blasting leaders who lack “basic f*****g curiosity” for others’ well-being.

Her team hasn’t addressed the growing backlash. The Post noted that Harris’ office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

As Harris continues her book tour, her unfiltered tone appears to be both her greatest asset and her biggest liability.
