ARLINGTON, TEXAS: The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ 2025 "World's Strongest Woman" title at the Official Strongman Games was taken away from Jammie Booker after the organizers found out that she is biologically male.

This new information led to an immediate disqualification and a reshuffling of the standings.

Official Strongman Games claimed in a lengthy statement on social media that they were unaware of Jammie Booker's past. (Instagram/OFFICIAL STRONGMAN)

What happened at Strongman Games: Rules, revelations and reversal

At first, Booker had won the Women's Open division at the Strongman Games in Arlington, surpassing Andrea Thompson by just one point. The triumph was met with a rousing celebration until the sex assigned at birth of the competitor came under question.

As per the organizers, they had no idea that Booker was biologically male at birth, a fact that would have led to her disqualification if it had been known.

On social media, in a message from the organizers, it was again emphasized that the gender testing in the Women's Open category is based on the biological sex recorded at birth.

The federation didn't waste time after the proof surfaced, including online content, that was pointing to Booker's sex at birth. They issued a disqualification to Booker owing to the absence of a satisfactory explanation from her, and they changed the medal positions ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌accordingly.

New champion declared after Jammie Booker's disqualification

Andrea‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Thompson is, therefore, the holder of the title of the World's Strongest Woman 2025. The rest of the rankings were changed appropriately that is, the athlete who was initially third thus became second, and so forth.Second-place winner Andrea Thompson, 43, was then named the World’s Strongest Woman. One can definitely see in her reaction that Andrea Thompson was not happy with the decision at first: the footage of the original ceremony where the recognition was given captures her leaving the stage and saying "This is bulls**t" silently, in a fit of rage, as far as we can understand, at not getting the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌crown.

The sequence of Jammie Booker's disqualification

Thompson stated that the Official Strongman Games gave Booker a day to respond to the allegations concerning her sex but that she didn't answer at all.

When there was no communication after the time limit, the people in charge decided to go ahead with their public statement announcing that they were disqualifying Booker and vacating the title.

Thompson said that it was after the event that a supposed video of explicit content featuring Booker started being circulated, thus, a lot of people looked into it more closely, and as a result, the competition rankings were ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌changed.

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Official Strongman representatives stressed that their regulations are designed differently for men and women for a reason: to maintain fairness in a powerlifting sport where physiological differences may have a significant impact on the result of the competition.

Moreover, they stated that the competition is still open to everyone; however, meeting the requirements for participation is ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌mandatory.
