NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Far-right commentator Candace Owens seemingly suggested that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) was responsible for the assassination of President John F Kennedy back in 1963, reported Mediaite.

The conspiracy theory steeped in antisemitism that has long made the rounds was pushed by the former Daily Wire host in response to a post from Rep Thomas Massie (R-Ky) on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, May 10.

Congressman Massie created a Twitter poll on Friday asking users whether the controversial lobbying group AIPAC should be required to register with the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

"Foreign interest lobbying group AIPAC is running $300,000 of ads as part of a pressure campaign to influence my votes in Congress," he wrote in the post. "The Foreign Agents Registration Act requires agents of foreign principals to register & disclose certain information. Should AIPAC register w/FARA?"

Owens, who reportedly left the Daily Wire following her disagreements with its founder Ben Shapiro over her criticisms of Israel and penchant for embracing antisemitic tropes, was quick to respond to the tweet, suggesting that the group had played a role in the assassination of the former President.

"Yes but I’m pretty sure they murdered JFK for trying to get this done,” she wrote in her reply.

The media personality further retweeted Massie's post, stating, "Protect Thomas Massie at all costs. #AmericaFirst"
