Al Pacino and Robert De Niro lead stars honoring Robert Duvall after his death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The entertainment industry is mourning the death of Robert Duvall, one of Hollywood’s most respected and enduring actors, whose career spanned more than six decades and produced some of cinema’s most unforgettable performances.
Duvall died peacefully at age 95 at his home in Middleburg, Virginia, surrounded by loved ones, according to a statement from his wife, Luciana Duvall..
“To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything,” Luciana said. “His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court.”
As news of his passing spread, some of Hollywood’s biggest names stepped forward to honor a man widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of his generation.

In a statement to the Press Association, Al Pacino reflected on working with Duvall and praised his extraordinary talent.
“It was an honor to have worked with Robert Duvall,” Pacino said. “He was a born actor. His connection with it, his understanding and his phenomenal gift will always be remembered. I will miss him.”
Pacino starred alongside Duvall in The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, two films that helped cement both actors as legends.
Robert De Niro also paid tribute, writing simply, “God bless Bobby. I hope I can live till I’m 95. May he rest in peace.”
Hollywood Honors Duvall’s Enduring Legacy
Viola Davis, who worked with Duvall on Widows, called it an “honor” to appear alongside him.
“I was in awe,” Davis wrote. “I’ve always been in awe of your towering portrayals of men who were both quiet and dominating in their humanness. To thy rest.”
Adam Sandler, who starred with Duvall in Hustle, remembered him as a generous and warm presence.
“Such a great man to talk to and laugh with,” Sandler wrote. “So many movies to choose from that were legendary. Watch them when you can.”
Michael Keaton, who appeared with Duvall in The Paper, shared a photo of the actor and wrote, “He was greatness personified as an actor. RIP RD.”
Walton Goggins, who appeared in The Apostle, described Duvall as “the greatest storyteller of all time,” calling him a mentor and a friend.

Author Stephen King quoted one of Duvall’s most famous lines from Apocalypse Now, writing, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning! RIP Robert Duvall.”

Director Francis Ford Coppola called Duvall “an essential part of American Zoetrope” and praised his lasting contribution to film.
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis also honoured his legacy, “The greatest consigliere the screen has ever seen. Bravo, Robert Duvall” the actress wrote on Instagram.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said Duvall’s ability to dominate scenes as a character actor while also carrying films as a leading man was a rare achievement.
Best known for his Academy Award-winning performance in Tender Mercies, along with classics such as 'The Godfather' and 'Apocalypse Now,' Duvall leaves behind a towering body of work that continues to shape American cinema.
