Alana Haim shares inside story behind Taylor Swift's viral Knicks-themed T-shirt from NBA Finals
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift turned heads at the NBA Finals Game 4 with a courtside appearance that quickly became a viral fashion moment. What really grabbed attention were the Knicks-themed T-shirts worn by her, Alana Haim, and Este Haim, which looked like fun inside jokes turned into DIY screen-printed outfits.
Now, Alana has shared the real inside story in an interview, explaining how the funny, pun-filled T-shirts were made and who came up with the idea. For those unaware, the Haim sisters are among Taylor's closest friends.

The shirts were not store-bought or styled by a big fashion house. They were actually screen-printed by Alana herself. Talking about how it all started, Haim revealed that the idea came straight from Taylor.
During an interview with Vogue, the 'Licorice Pizza' actress said, “I got a text from Taylor that was really the text that you want to get as an amateur screen printer (Laughs.) She said, ‘I want to wear this shirt to the game, can you make it for me?’ and I was like, ‘I thought you would never ask, this is my dream.’”
"Whenever I start out a session with a friend, I go: 'Let’s talk about puns, let's talk about sizing,'" she continued. "And (Taylor) came up with Stevie Knicks."
From there, the idea turned into a full creative moment for the group. Taylor wore the “Stevie Knicks” T-shirt, while Alana and Este came up with their own playful versions, including “Knickelback” and “Knickole Kidman.”
"We were kind of going back and forth with these puns," Alana recalled. "We really just wanted to have fun, because we were so excited that we were going to the game, and I thought it would make people laugh, so we put them on shirts and all decided to wear them."
'The Drama' actress revealed she bought plain blue Gildan T-shirts from Michael’s for $2.99 each, a rep told Vogue, and used orange puff screen printing ink for the lettering.
