LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ winner Adrianne Curry has criticised Victoria’s Secret for casting Kylie Jenner in its annual fashion show, arguing that the reality star should not have been chosen to wear the brand’s iconic $50 million Fantasy Bra.

Curry questioned the decision during a livestream, after Jenner’s Victoria’s Secret runway debut in California divided social media users and critics.

Curry rose to fame after winning the original season of ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ in 2003. She subsequently modelled for Ed Hardy, Von Dutch, Playboy and Marie Claire before leaving the industry to live off-the-grid in Montana.

However, the former reality star has continued to maintain an active presence on social media. During a livestream this week, Curry criticised Victoria’s Secret for selecting Jenner to wear the coveted lingerie item, questioning the brand’s emphasis on celebrity influence over modelling credentials.

“Everything is a virtue signal or ‘who’s the biggest influencer.’ I’m sorry, nothing against Kylie Jenner, [but] you’re not a model,” Curry said.

She continued, “You don’t have a model’s body. I don’t know why they put her in the [Fantasy Bra]. That’s for the belle of the ball. That is for the top Victoria’s Secret Angel.”

Comparing the decision to a competition winner receiving an unexpected honor, Curry added, “That is like winning homecoming queen, and they just give it to Jenner? Like, get out of here. Victoria’s Secret is a joke. Uh uh."

Jenner’s appearance received mixed reactions, with some critics calling for the fashion show to be cancelled, and fans praising her beauty and confidence on the runway.

Kylie Jenner wore the world's most expensive lingerie item at Victoria’s Secret show

Jenner made a surprise runway appearance in the iconic gemstone-encrusted Fantasy Bra during the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Sunday. The appearance marked the first time the brand had featured the coveted garment on its runway since 2018, with Jenner becoming the first non-Angel to model the famed lingerie.

The expensive piece features a $22 million (£17 million) yellow diamond centerpiece and 4,410 natural diamonds. Wearing the garment is considered one of the highest honors a supermodel can receive.

Jenner’s show-stopping look included a sheer mini skirt, silver innerwear, clear heels and angelic white wings. Her boyfriend, Timothee Chalamet and mother, Kris Jenner, watched her appearance from the front row.

Victoria’s Secret creative director Adam Selman explained the decision to cast Jenner in the special moment in an interview with Vogue after the show aired.

“Kylie really extends beyond fashion, beyond culture, beyond TV, beyond one singular thing,” Selman said. “That’s the exact same thing that we do. Like, the show is so big, it’s true entertainment, and I think that she is a great catalyst for that.”

He added that Jenner had “really created her own culture,” asking, “How many people can say that?”
