'An utter joke': Internet shreds Joe Biden as he finally shortens his beach weekend amid Middle East's rising conflict

REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE: President Joe Biden has cut short his beach weekend and made his way back to the White House while the Israel and US forces prepare in the Middle East for a possible all-out assault by Iran.

The 81-year-old had been in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and was originally expected to return on Sunday, April 14.

However, following the developments, he is set to return to the White House on Saturday, April 13, to “consult with his national security team about events in the Middle East,” as confirmed by his administration.

And while the 46th US President left for a beach getaway, Harris made a campaign appearance in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday, April 12, per the New York Post.

Both Biden and Kamala Harris' questionable decision to go out of DC has raised eyebrows among many, especially when tensions between Israel and Iran are at an all-time high.

Iran is expected to launch an attack on Israel

Tehran, Iran, is expected to imminently launch a direct attack on Israel, a devastating move about which Biden himself vehemently warned against during a press briefing on Friday, April 12.

The repeated threats from Iran following Israel’s assassination in Damascus of a top Iranian Revolutionary Guard general, have triggered the prospect of a wider regional conflict.

As of Friday, the US had moved two guided-missile destroyers capable of intercepting drones and incoming missiles closer to Israel in anticipation of the attack by Iran. The country is also prepared to help Israel intercept missiles from Iran.

What did the US Defense Secretary say?

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin called his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant today to tell him he has "unwavering" backing from the US, reported Daily Mail.

Austin reiterated "that Israel could count on full U.S. support to defend Israel against any attacks by Iran and its regional proxies," in a statement made shortly after Biden returned from his beach trip.

In response, Gallant said the nation is closely following "a planned attack" from Iran.

Precautionary measures taken in Israel

In response to the anticipated strikes, Israeli officials updated their guidelines to prohibit all educational activities in the nation, and to limit all gatherings to 1,000 people.

Beaches are also set to be closed to the public, and some areas in the Gaza Envelope and near the border will see limits on all outdoor gatherings to between 30 and 100 people respectively.

Internet reacts after Biden heads back to DC to deal with the Middle East crisis

Internet users lashed out at the US President for showing a lack of concern and a nonchalant attitude before making his way back to the capital to deal with the Middle East's state of unrest.

One user joked, "Is Biden really needed at this meeting?" and another mocked, "Poor feller, didn’t get to look at all that water, wondering, where did that come from? Has that always been there?"

"Funny how, when there is an emergency, politicians are always near a beach... Almost like this is their life , while supposedly running a country," pointed one, and another tweeted, "Did they have to use ice cream to trick him?"

"He is an utter joke, I bet he doesnt even know what day it is !" wrote one user.
