NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: While Donald Trump rallies for his 2024 run, Melania Trump has chosen a different spotlight - promoting her memoir 'Melania'.

In a cryptic black-and-white promo video posted to social media, the former first lady, half in shadow, left viewers scratching their heads. She alludes to her take on "my body, my choice," though she never directly mentions abortion.

However, pre-released excerpts from her book suggest Melania is backing a woman's right to choose, making the subject of the video all the more intriguing. The perplexing clip quickly went viral, catching the attention of Anderson Cooper, who shared his thoughts on 'Anderson Cooper 360'.

"That's the weirdest promo I've ever seen," he said, laughing. "Like, the lighting. I'm sorry. I've written four books. I've never seen a promo like that." Cooper struggled to contain his laughter, bewildered by the strange aesthetics.

Melania Trump urges empathy for women and personal dilemmas they face

In her memoir, Melania Trump touches on the personal and often painful reasons that lead some women to seek abortions, acknowledging the moral weight of these decisions.

“Many women opt for abortions due to personal medical concerns,” the former first lady explained, according to The Guardian which obtained an advance copy of her upcoming memoir 'Melania'.

“These situations with significant moral implications weigh heavily on the woman and her family and deserve our empathy,” Melania claimed. She also highlighted the emotional complexities that come with the decision, particularly when a mother’s life might be at risk.

“Consider, for example, the complexity inherent in the decision of whether the mother should risk her own life to give birth,” Melania penned, bringing attention to the profound personal dilemmas many women face

Melania's pro-abortion choice stance complicates Trump’s efforts to appeal to women voters

Furthermore, the revelation of Melania Trump’s support for abortion rights adds another twist to the political landscape as her husband, Donald Trump, and his running mate, JD Vance, face increasing pressure to win over women voters ahead of the November 5 election.

Securing trust on abortion rights has been a crucial obstacle for Trump, particularly as the issue has become a significant liability for Republicans since the Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

In the aftermath of that ruling, abortion has turned into the GOP’s Achilles heel. The party faced losses in the 2022 midterms, and abortion rights supporters have consistently won ballot measures - even in deep-red states like Kentucky, Kansas, and Ohio.

During his current campaign, Trump has walked a fine line, attempting to appease voters on both sides of the debate. He’s alternately boasted about his role in ending Roe — by appointing three justices instrumental in the decision — and complained that extreme positions on abortion are costing Republicans elections.

"She’s lit like that cuz she’s not very bright," said another.

"I believe she's trying to get women that supports abortions to support Trump that's her game," added a third.

"SNL is going to have fun with this!" read a tweet.

"I’m still laughing at AC’s reaction," penned a user.

"They keep her locked in a dark closet?" stated another.

"You expected normal?" mocked a user.

"The lighting and staging is like a perfume commercial from the 90s. It’s so odd," chimed in another
