Anna Paulina Luna shares journey from adversity to Congress in Maxim cover feature
In a statement on X, previously known as Twitter, Luna expressed her enthusiasm for the cover feature and the chance to share her story.
In the featured interview, Luna shares her journey from a difficult childhood to her present position in Congress. She contemplates her military service and her first foray into politics, offering fresh perspectives on her early life, The Express Tribune revealed.
Luna revisited her previous association with Maxim, reflecting on her stint as a model for the magazine in 2014.
“At the time, there was this idea that women in the military couldn’t be feminine. I wanted to help shatter the narrative and decided to join the Maxim model competition,” Luna clarified that her decision received backing from the Pentagon's public affairs office.
Anna Luna addresses resurfaced MAGA swimsuit video and online criticism
Luna, a Florida Representative, was involved in a controversy over a years-old video that resurfaced, showing her dancing in a MAGA-themed swimsuit.
The video, from 2016, was highlighted as she began her term in the House of Representatives.
Luna addressed the attention by affirming her biological gender and citing her previous work in swimwear design, as well as her features in Sports Illustrated and Maxim.
She also responded to online criticism from August, which arose after a swimsuit video went viral, leading to support from other conservative women who shared their swimsuit photos.
As a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, Luna continues to align with him in his campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election. Maxim magazine has also recently declared its endorsement for Trump in the forthcoming election, publicizing its stance in a post on X.
