Anne Hathaway is focused on family as she prepares for baby
An insider told the outlet that Hathaway is currently “focused on family” as she prepares to welcome her third child. The source said, “She's grateful for where she is in her career and for the opportunity to be part of a film that means so much to so many people."
It continued, "Complaining just isn't Anne. She approaches things with gratitude and professionalism, and that's exactly how she handled the press tour. Right now, she's focused on family and enjoying a little downtime,” referring to her upcoming film releases.
During the press tour for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2,' she reportedly wanted the focus to remain on the highly anticipated sequel rather than her personal life. According to the insider, she simply wanted to “reveal the pregnancy on her own terms.”
“Anne was excited about the movie and wanted the attention to stay on the project,” the source shared adding, “She has always been very good at separating her personal life from her work life. The press tour was about celebrating the movie and getting fans excited to see it.”
Hathaway announced the pregnancy herself in an Instagram video shared on Friday, June 19. Wearing a flowing white dress, she walked into the frame with her arms covering her stomach before lowering them to reveal her baby bump as Barbara Lewis' 'Baby I'm Yours' played in the background.
Smiling, she hugged her stomach and ran out of frame, captioning the post, “x Baby, I’m yours x.”
Anne Hathaway reflects on motherhood and family life
In a May interview with Elle for its Summer 2026 'The Epic Issue,' she offered a rare glimpse into life with sons, describing the stage of family life she is currently enjoying. “They’re in this really fun zone where we all love hanging out together, which I understand may change,” Hathaway said.
She then joked, “Well, we will always love hanging out with them, but their feelings about us might change.” The actress also spoke about being present in the moment with Shulman and their children. “We’re all just in it,” she said adding, “Adam and I are soaking it up. I’m having the most wonderful time with my family, living in the city of my dreams, and work seems to be going really, really well.”
Reflecting on the current phase of her life, she added, “So rather obnoxiously, I’m having a great time as everything else burns.”
Hathaway has previously discussed the profound impact motherhood has had on her life. In a March 2022 interview with WSJ Magazine, she said, “I didn’t feel fully landed and fully here until I was a mom.”
“It's not like I was lacking integrity, but it made me want to be completely, on every level, true to my word,” she continued adding, “And that meant stopping any nonsense that I had going on inside myself. And it's little breaks that you give yourself sometimes when you know that you're not being your best self.”
