The Princess of Genovia herself addressed the long-awaited return. Hathaway shared, “We have grown up together, and I am so amazed by how deeply people have held these stories and this character.”
The actress was dressed in a white long top, a striking red top and white formal pants. She was heard saying that she still couldn't spell the word “Gabbana.” She then said, “I have come to love being told to shut up, so maybe you can help me out with that - ME a princess?”

The audience shouted, “Shut up.” She then said in a British tone, “Beg your pardon, shut up,” and smiled at the crowd.
Talking about working with Disney, she shared, “Being part of the Disney family also means being part of a legacy studio that deeply values the family audience it makes content for.”
“It’s why we are working so hard to get The Princess Diaries 3 right, thanks for your patience,” she continued.
Anne Hathaway returns as Julie Andrews passes on the third film
The iconic film is finally returning after 22 years, since 'The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement' came out in theaters. Even though Hathaway is all set, another key character won't be returning, Julie Andrews. She has shared that she will 'pass' on the character.
During an interview with InStyle, the veteran actress shared, “I think I probably passed... I think I’m retired, really, would be about the best description for that." "And this one I felt would flourish very well and wouldn’t need Granny going in there at my age," she added.
“(The film’s creative team) asked me all last year if I would be keen to do it. It was very, very hard to say ‘no,’ but I did because I thought I had a wonderful ride," she stated.
“I’m not completely retired, but it’s a different kind of work that I do these days- (writing) books, and I do a lot of recording of podcasts and voiceovers. But truly, I don’t think I should be a part of it," she added.
Well, it is unclear how the film production will handle the absence of Andrews' character.
