The Puerto Rican rapper, whose original name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, also talked about his feelings as his highly anticipated and debated halftime performance is coming close. The global superstar will perform on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Bad Bunny missing sleep ahead of Super Bowl performance
He told the press, “To be honest, I don’t know how I’m feeling. There’s a lot.” Bad Bunny also revealed that he “couldn't sleep” on February 4 as he was “thinking about the Super Bowl at 4 am.”
“I feel more excited about all of the people than thinking about me. My family and all my friends,” the 31-year-old added as he also asserted that he’s “going to have fun. The crew, the people. That’s what I’m trying to focus on. Enjoy the moment, what is happening.”
Bad Bunny asks people to only 'worry about dancing'
The ‘King of Latin Trap’ then addressed people’s concern about understanding his mother tongue, as he’s a Spanish speaker.
“It’s going to be easy, people only have to worry about dancing. They don’t even have to learn Spanish. Better they learn to dance. There is no better dance than the one that comes from the heart,” Bad Bunny said.
Also during the presser, the Grammy winner hinted at some surprise at the halftime show. “I just want to have fun, it’s going to be a huge party … I don’t want to give spoilers,” he claimed.
He also added that “of course I will have a lot of guests: my family and friends or all the Latino community around the world.”
Bad Bunny gets emotional as he talks about his mom
There came a point during the conference when Bad Bunny went emotional while revealing the name of that one person who supported him before the “world knew his name”.
“My mom because she believed in me, and I’m not talking about my music career, I’m just talking about before everything,” he shared.
Bad Bunny further explained, “She believed in me as a person, as a human. She believed in me that in my decisions in my opinions in my taste in my choices she believe in me as a person, smart guy, talented and I think that’s what got me here, you know?”
Bad Bunny calls out ICE at Grammys
The conference happened days after Bad Bunny protested against ICE while accepting his Grammy award for best música urbana album.
He had said on stage, "Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE out! We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans."
