NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Marty Dolan, Democratic primary challenger to Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the congressional seat of New York City district slammed the Squad member's leadership on the Friday, April 12 episode of 'Fox & Friends.'

The criticism of the House candidate follows the line of 'Shark Tank' co-host Kevin O'Leary, who recently claimed in an interview that he would not allow AOC to "manage a candy store."

Marty Dolan's take on AOC

Claiming that the Congresswoman had scared away businesses from her district, Dolan said, "I think the impact of AOC's really terrible leadership is much worse than one candy store... So if you're not pro-business, it isn't just that you're a bad manager or a bad leader, you're bad for the community in general."

He remarked that his party "used to be for unions, for protecting people who had jobs," but at present the policies of the district "selfishly" cater to AOC.

Identifying as a moderate Democrat, and being the son of an Argentinian refugee, Dolan further expressed his concerns about the progressive members of his party trying to implement socialism in the United States.

"This is like if you're trying to turn the United States into Venezuela, which is this great big socialist experiment for the last six years. This is Bernie Sanders and AOC trying to turn the United States into Venezuela."

Back in March, Dolan had told Fox News that he would be capitalizing on residents' "dissatisfaction" to showcase how AOC looks good in the media but is not actually so for the regular people of New York.

"A lot of what AOC has done has been very good at the headlines, but not so good in the street," he stated, adding, "So whether it's the Green New Deal, whether it's the Amazon deal, whether it's the immigrants that are coming in and taking benefits that are intended for constituents, she's really putting the headlines first and the constituents second."

Kevin O'Leary's criticism of AOC

The Congresswoman has been criticized by many businessmen for organizing a successful political campaign in Queens back in 2020, to block Amazon from building its second headquarters in the region.

While CEO of Job Creators Network Alfredo Ortiz had reportedly told Fox News that the campaign had cost the city "25,000 good-paying jobs" at the time, O’Leary slammed AOC in a recent interview, claiming that her district looks like a "Third World country."

"I look at AOC, what an incredible, incredibly successful politician she is and what a horrific manager she is," he noted, before addressing the voters of New York.

"Why would you want to reward that? Why wouldn’t you say, ‘Excuse me. Could I get better management, please? I live here. I pay taxes here and I’d like a job. And I don’t think you’re doing a great job for me as a manager. How about I hire somebody else?’"
