NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Barron Trump, the youngest son of former president Donald Trump, is making headlines not just for attending New York University (NYU), but for choosing to live at a place that’s quite familiar to him—Trump Tower, as per Slate.

While most freshmen at NYU’s Stern School of Business settle into campus dormitories, Barron is opting to stay in the luxurious comfort of his family’s iconic Fifth Avenue residence instead.

This decision sets him apart from many of his peers and shines a spotlight on the youngest Trump’s college experience, which seems to follow a more private and controlled path.

For many New York University students, dorm life is part of the quintessential college experience, offering the chance to live independently for the first time, form friendships, and immerse themselves in campus life.

But Barron Trump, 18, has chosen a different route by deciding to live at home.

Trump Tower, the family’s Manhattan residence, will serve as Barron’s base as he navigates his first year at one of the most prestigious business schools in the world.

Unlike many NYU students, Barron’s decision wasn’t driven by financial considerations.

As the son of a billionaire businessman and a former US president, money certainly isn’t an obstacle. Instead, his decision appears to be a matter of personal choice and preference.

Barron’s mother, Melania Trump, shared insight into her son’s decision during an interview with Fox News.

"It was his decision to come here that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that," she explained.

Melania, who has consistently kept Barron’s life out of the media spotlight, also expressed her pride in how her son has grown over the years.

She shared, "I’m very proud of what he grew up to [be]. His strength. His intelligence. His knowledge, his kindness. It’s admirable."

She also touched on the uniqueness of Barron’s life, noting, "I hope he will have a great experience because his life is very different than any other 18, 19-year-old child."

Barron Trump's presence at NYU hasn't gone unnoticed

Barron Trump's presence at NYU has not gone unnoticed, despite his efforts to blend into the bustling campus.

Students have been quick to spot him, with many attempting to capture photos or videos of him on campus. However, these attempts often result in blurry, shaky footage that has been humorously dubbed the "Sasquatch effect."

The sightings have sparked fascination among his peers, given that Barron is attending a university that is known for its liberal atmosphere—one that starkly contrasts with the political leanings of his father.

An NYU student expressed their surprise to WIRED, saying, "I feel like Barron could’ve gone to any school, but the fact that he chose one of the most liberal schools in the country speaks volumes. I was shocked and super intrigued that he would choose NYU."

Barron’s debut at NYU made headlines when he arrived for his first day of classes, accompanied by a security detail.

Photos from the day showed him dressed in a white polo shirt tucked into black pants, with a backpack slung over one shoulder.

The 6’7” freshman stood out not only for his towering height but also for the protective presence of his security team, a reminder of his high-profile background.

His first day at NYU came just months after he graduated from Oxbridge Academy, a private school in Florida.

In May, Barron’s family proudly attended his graduation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the teenager’s life. The former president and Melania were both in attendance, despite Trump’s legal battles at the time.
