Barron Trump has a surprising lookalike in one of Donald Trump's 10 grandchildren
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Melania Trump once famously dubbed her son Barron Trump as a "Mini-Donald." Fast forward to today, and it seems the torch has been passed. Barron now has a "mini-me" of his own and it is none other than his nephew Donald Trump III, the son of Donald Trump Jr.
Confused by all the Donald Trumps in this story? Hang tight, it all ties together.
Similarities between Donald Trump III and Barron Trump
When you hear about Donald Trump Jr's children, you might immediately think of his eldest, Kai Trump. But Donald Jr, like his father before him, has five children in total. Of course, when his first son was born, there was no surprise that the family name was carried forward with the birth of Donald Trump III.
Despite the famous name, this 15-year-old doesn't pop up in the spotlight too often. That's why everyone was shocked when they caught a rare glimpse of him on stage at the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC). The buzz wasn't just about his appearance, but more about how Donald III bears an uncanny resemblance to his uncle Barron.
Let’s talk about the similarities. Like Barron, Donald Trump III has thick, arched brows and a well-groomed comb-over hairstyle that has become a sort of trademark in the Trump family. But it’s not just the looks—Donald III also shares Barron's calm and collected demeanor.
He was impressively poised on stage, much like how Barron has handled the public eye over the years. Granted, Donald III isn’t quite as tall as Barron yet, but hey, he's only 15. There’s plenty of time for him to sprout up and perhaps one day reach his uncle's towering height.
You can bet that Donald Jr would be thrilled to see that happen. After all, the family patriarch Donald Sr once joked that Barron was more popular than him. So if Donald III reaches Barron’s level of fame, it might just be a point of pride for his father.
All teasing aside, there’s a good chance that Barron and Donald Trump III are closer than the public knows. The Trump family is famously tight-knit, always presenting a united front. Eric Trump, in particular, has spoken of the close relationship his children have with Barron.
In an episode of 'First Class Fatherhood', Eric revealed, "He's got a great relationship with my kids." He added, "We're all very, very close... between Don and Ivanka and myself, there are, you know, 10 grandchildren."
Interestingly, Donald Jr has kept mum about his relationship with Barron and has never publicly discussed the bond between his younger brother and his own children. But if you consider the close age gap—Barron is just a year older than Kai and three years older than Donald III—it seems likely that they spend a good deal of time together.
Perhaps this closeness explains why Donald III seems to mirror Barron, not just in appearance but in posture and poise as well, Nicki Swift reported.
Barron Trump grew up in White House
Barron Trump might have grown up in the White House, but he's managed to stay mostly out of the limelight. After Donald Trump tied the knot with Melania in 2005, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together. Barron was born on March 20, 2006, becoming Donald's fifth child and Melania's first.
The early years of Barron's life were spent in luxury at the family's penthouse in New York City. He attended prestigious private schools on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
When Donald Trump was elected president in 2016 and took office in January 2017, Barron and Melania remained in New York for a few months so he could finish the school year. It wasn’t until the summer that Barron enrolled at St Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland and officially moved into the White House with his family.
Unlike his older siblings—Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr, Eric, and Tiffany—who were all very involved in their father's presidency, Barron’s life remained highly private. His mother Melania took great care to shield him from the public eye.
In March 2023, a source told People magazine, "Barron has always been a first priority in [Melania's] life."
The insider continued, "Of course, she is worried and concerned about the legal issues, but she has not done anything more to protect Barron now than she ever did. She has always put him first. She is a good mother."
In May this year, Barron graduated from high school and started his freshman year at New York University in the fall.
