NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, surprised his friends at New York University with a shocking reply when asked about his political views.

Some Republicans are touting the Stern School of Business student as the next family member to lead the country after his father won the 2024 US elections.

Barron Trump reveals his political views to NYU friends

Barron Trump's fellow NYU students reported that whenever any of them quiz the President-elect's son about his political views, he tells them flatly that he doesn't support any party, according to the Daily Mail.

Interestingly, Barron is studying at a school that staged one of the first anti-Trump protests on Wednesday, November 6. His answer might be a wise one but it certainly isn't the honest one, per the outlet.

Moreover, on election day, Melania Trump posted a photo on social media that she had taken of the 18-year-old Barron in a polling booth and captioned it "Voted for the first time – for his dad."

Barron drew attention at the Trump victory rally in the early hours of Wednesday for his impressive height. At 6 feet 9 inches, the 18-year-old stands 6 inches taller than his father.

Donald Trump credits son Barron Trump for attracting young voters

The President-elect has credited his son Barron Trump for being the wunderkind who helped him win over young male voters who were politically drifting right.

The Republican candidate was aware that he needed to target the young voters and his middle-aged senior advisers weren't reportedly much help and neither were his older children who, apart from Tiffany, are all in their 40s.

This is when Barron came into play. As per reports, when two GOP consultants came up with a list of online podcasts Trump might give an interview, the President-elect told them to call Barron and see what he thinks and let him know.

Barron told his father to start with one of his favorites, Adin Ross, who likes live-streaming himself playing video games as well as interviewing controversial personalities.

The President-elect spoke to the streamer in August 2024 and it proved to be a great move as the interview video garnered millions of views on YouTube.

Trump went on to give interviews to laddish podcasters who boast huge audiences, including comedian Theo Von, YouTuber and professional wrestler Logan Paul, political commentator Ben Shapiro, and Joe Rogan.

Praising Barron, Trump told Fox News in October, "He tells me about all the 'hot' guys. People I've never heard of. He says, Dad, that guy is hot."

Barron Trump praises his father Donald Trump for 'hard life' he led

Patrick Bet-David, a 45-year-old businessman and podcaster, shared a segment of his speech from the Sales Leadership Summit 2024 in which he claimed that Barron Trump remarked on his billionaire father's "hard life" at a private dinner in October.

Bet-David said, "The more I spend time with Baron Trump, the more impressed I am with him. Most interesting 18-year-old I've met."

He reported that Barron started praising his father and stated he would "never come close" to matching his father's accomplishments in life, according to the Daily Mail.

Barron said, according to Bet-David, "Look, no matter what I do, no matter what my brothers do, no matter how much money we make, our success will never compare to what our father had to endure because he truly had the hard life. Not us, we had an easy life."
