Ben Affleck says his kids mock his dating history after Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez splits
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck revealed on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ that his three children with Jennifer Garner have turned his relationship history into dinner-table jokes, often teasing him whenever he offers advice.
As they get older, the actor said his children now see him as something of a “caricature,” with the siblings exchanging knowing looks whenever he tries to speak to them like a parent.

Affleck, who has been married and divorced twice, recalled trying to share his “lived experience” during a dinner-table conversation as his three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, whom he shares with Garner, discussed their friends, drama and relationships.
“I said, ‘You know, well, the thing about that relationship there with that person…’” Affleck remembered, before his 17-year-old daughter immediately responded, “Oh, like you’re the expert on relationships?”
Affleck and Garner married in 2005 before separating a decade later, with their divorce finalized in 2018. Casey Affleck previously revealed, “Ben is trying to put it together, and it can be a very hard thing to do. He has the kind of resources and time, luckily, to take the time and go to a good facility.”
Affleck also recalled another exchange involving his middle child during a trip to a bookstore. While they were browsing, they came across a book by a French author titled 'I’m Sorry for Everything.' His child immediately turned to him and said, “Oh, look, Dad, it’s your autobiography.”
He laughed while recounting the moment and admitted that he was “proud” of his child’s comedic timing.

Affleck told Kimmel that his children’s reactions have become more noticeable as they approach adulthood. “I, like, give advice or try to talk to them like a parent, as you do … but what I’ve found is that now it’s not only one teenager rolling their eyes,” he said.
He concluded, “I catch them giving each other looks.” In addition to Garner and Jennifer Lopez, Affleck’s star-studded dating history includes relationships with Gwyneth Paltrow, Ana de Armas and others.
Lopez first met Affleck in 2001 on the set of ‘Gigli’ while she was still married to her second husband, Cris Judd. After Lopez split from Judd in June 2002, she and Affleck went public with their romance shortly afterward.
By November 2002, the pair were engaged, but after postponing their September 2003 wedding, they officially called things off four months later. The duo reunited years later and married in 2022, but they split within two years.
An insider told Page Six that they had “got caught up in the moment,” adding that Lopez had wanted the wedding, including the gowns, friends and other “trappings and trimmings,” for decades. The insider said they had “turned the page” on their unfinished business and described their split as “the most elaborate and expensive exercise in closure ever.”
Lopez was reportedly “furious” and “humiliated,” while Affleck had held off on filing for divorce to spare her more embarrassment.
