LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: A viral video showing actor Benedict Cumberbatch in a heated argument with a fellow cyclist on a central London street is now making rounds across social media, and this was not a planned skit or movie scene.

The ‘Doctor Strange’ actor was even called a “deluded” person during the tense 10-minute clash. Now, the heated spat between Cumberbatch and the anonymous cyclist is grabbing attention online after the footage surfaced on X.

The clip, which received 2.4 million views, shows Cumberbatch speaking to a masked cyclist at around 5:30 pm on a Tuesday earlier this month. So much so, the pair even ended up blocking a lane on the busy road while continuing their argument.

Benedict Cumberbatch argued with another cyclist on a busy London street

It all reportedly started near King’s Cross station, where a passerby claimed that even before the heated exchange began, they saw Cumberbatch riding his cargo bike at speed and entering the cycle lane alongside another biker.

The anonymous cyclist then started filming as the furious man in red trousers slammed the actor as “deluded”. The angered cyclist could be heard yelling, “You’re lying. I was behind you the entire time.”

Cumberbatch responded, “Dude, you verbally abused me,” while listening to the man in the blue coat and red trousers. The argument only intensified after Cumberbatch got off his bike and walked across the road to confront the other cyclist face-to-face.

As per The Sun, the cyclist then mocked the actor with a sarcastic crying gesture and said, “Oh no, I verbally abused the guy who completely repeatedly broke the law,” with Cumberbatch appearing to admit, “I did it once.”

The masked cyclist continued, “And then you went through a zebra crossing, you went through three lights,” but Cumberbatch stuck to his stance and replied, “No, I did not.” The person who filmed the viral video later recalled the chaotic moment, saying, “It was crazy. It was such a pompous road rage that it almost felt like it had been staged."

The witness added, “Everyone was just stood there with jaws dropped."
