HOUSTON, TEXAS: Pop icon Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, took a subtle jab at GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump for his earlier comments about "Black jobs" during her speech at Friday, October 25 rally for Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris in Texas.

She took the stage ahead of her daughter's highly anticipated appearance at the event to express her support for Harris's presidential bid, per HuffPost.



 

Tina Knowles takes a swipe at Donald Trump with 'Black jobs' remark

Tina Knowles began her speech and said, "This is what you call Houston proud! I am honored to be back in Houston tonight, the city where my girls got their voices."

The fashion designer and philanthropist continued, "I’ve been so blessed in my life to have many careers, many Black jobs. But I have said before, the best job that I’ve ever had is being a mother."

The "Black Jobs" remark was a dig at Trump as the Republican candidate had stunned people in June 2024 when he referred to "Black jobs" during a debate against President Joe Biden.

During the debate, Trump aimed at Biden’s border policies and claimed that "millions of people" crossing into the US are taking "Black jobs" and "Hispanic jobs," per the outlet.

Beyonce says 'I am here as a mother' at Kamala Harris rally

During the Houston rally, Beyonce took the stage and said, "For all the men and women in this room, and watching around the country, we need you."



 

She added, "I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children, and all of our children, live in. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies."

Despite the speculation, the pop star did not perform during the rally but offered her endorsement of Harris, a woman "standing in her power," per Guardian.
