WASHINGTON, DC: Political pundits are accusing incumbent President Joe Biden of deliberately sabotaging the chances of his party nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, in the upcoming general election, reported the New York Post on Saturday, October 12.

Biden was initially the presumptive Democratic nominee but was forced to suspend his presidential campaign amid increasing concern across the isle over his mental acuity to continue at the top job for another four years.

While Biden announced dropping out of the race and endorsed Harris on his behalf in July, many believe he was sidelined by a coup within the Democratic Party, and harbored secret resentment for some members ever since.

Actions of Joe Biden that are considered unhelpful for Kamala Harris campaign

According to the publication, Joe Biden has done little to support Kamala Harris in the run-up to the general election, other than endorsing her and showing up at very few campaign events.

He also drew away the spotlight from his successor at multiple events, most recently in the case of federal government response in the aftermath of the disastrous Hurricane Helene.

The outgoing POTUS also sported a 'Trump 2024' cap at a 9/11 anniversary event last month, and praised Florida Governor Ron Desantis (R) for his preparation to mitigate the impact of Hurricane Milton a day after Harris complained that DeSantis did not take her call.

Political commentators' take on Joe Biden's actions

Interpreting Joe Biden's actions, GOP political strategist and Donald Trump's campaign adviser Jason Meister claimed, "Biden is intentionally enacting revenge on Kamala for knifing him in the back."

"He never liked her. The happiest he’s looked in four years was when he put a red (Trump 2024) hat on after speaking with Shanksville firefighters on 9/11. He should just come out and endorse Trump.”

On the other hand, Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf insisted that Biden's refusal to embrace the Harris campaign was a "power move" to show "who the boss still is.”

"Why hasn’t (Biden) appeared in places where he could do some good, like parts of Pennsylvania and states that the president has buoyed during his term? Nobody wants to give up being president of the United States – it’s the one job you don’t want to leave," he remarked.

Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also remarked at a recent Trump rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania that Biden may be "rooting for" the GOP nominee in November.

Internet agrees with political pundits

Netizens reacting to the news on the social media platform X claimed that Joe Biden was "still bitter" about having to quit the 2024 presidential race. The following tweets demonstrate the predominant takes.

"Biden didn't appreciate his Julius Ceasar treatment. Who can blame him? Et tu Kamala," wrote a user.

"They stabbed him in the back and he is bitter," claimed another.

"The quiet parts are being spoken aloud now," jibed one user.

"Biden's last stand," remarked someone else.

"It was clear as day that Joe was not happy about the coup," noted someone.
