WASHINGTON, DC: The 2025 presidential inauguration was marked by powerful performances and historic moments, but one interaction during Carrie Underwood’s rendition of the National Anthem quickly became a viral sensation— Bill Clinton's seemingly involuntary glance at the country singer.

Underwood, who was the subject of some controversy after accepting the invitation to perform at President Donald Trump’s inauguration, stood proudly on stage as the star-studded event unfolded.

Carrie Underwood honors the nation with powerful inauguration performance

Carrie Underwood did not endorse any candidate in the 2024 presidential election or disclose her vote. The only statement she made regarding her performance was to express the honor of performing for her country.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future,” she said.

However, her decision to perform at the inauguration stirred backlash among some of her fans, particularly from the left, who criticized her involvement with the Trump administration.

Amid the scrutiny, former president Clinton was caught on camera during Underwood’s performance.
