LOS ANGLES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian and television host Bill Maher predicted that former president Donald Trump will not win the 2024 presidential election.

Maher made the bold claims on his show, 'Real Time with Bill Maher'. The clip is now widely being viewed on social media.

Bill Maher makes 'momentous night' prediction, says Donald Trump will lose

Bill Maher's prediction comes after years of defending Donald Trump's political resilience despite various controversies.

"I'm going to make this a very momentous night with a prediction... I think it's over," Maher stated on the show.

During the episode, he was joined by political commentator and GOP pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson and former Senator Al Franken as per The Hill.

Maher confidently expressed his belief that Trump’s political career is nearing its end. He went on to say, "I just think he’s going to lose."

He also added that he feels he has the credibility to make this prediction, noting that he had previously been labeled a "Trump alarmist."

Bill Maher says he has argued Donald Trump's loss despite every 'crazy s**t' he has done

Bill Maher mentioned how, even after the infamous 'Access Hollywood' tape scandal, where Donald Trump boasted about groping women, he still believed the former president had a chance.

"Every time [Trump] he's been done crazy s**t... I said no no, it's not over. I have said that, I have argued with people...," the talk show host said, adding that now he has no confidence to argue in his favor anymore.

However, Kristen Soltis Anderson quickly pushed back against Maher's confidence in predicting the outcome of the 2024 election.

"I do not share your confidence in knowing how this is going to go," she remarked, signaling her disagreement with Maher's assessment.

Trump's influence, she noted, over voters remains strong because they are already familiar with his policies and his persona. “You look at these battleground states, they’re still 50/50,” Anderson added.

Internet reactions to Bill Maher's prediction of Donald Trump's loss

Online reactions have been mixed regarding Bill Maher's prediction. Even as some suggest the foretelling will come true, others, mostly Republican supporters argue differently.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "I think he's got this wrong, actually. The immigration concerns are boosting Trump. His poor debate showing & other missteps are actually being canceled out by what is going on in Ohio. Regardless of the veracity of any specific claim, the problems in Springfield are haunting."

Someone else offered a different viewpoint in Maher's favor, "He’s absolutely right, but only if every Democrat, Independent, and true conservative turns out to vote."

Another user agreed but suggested that while Trump may be out of the race, the broader movement he represents might not be. "I agree. Trumpism is probably not over, but Trump the candidate is done," the person shared.

However, some remained firm in their support of Trump. "What a dumb statement. If Trump loses, it will be because democrats stole the election," one user argued, citing states like Virginia, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Texas as examples of alleged voter fraud. "Trump has the edge," the commenter insisted.
