MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Michael Cohen appeared in Manhattan court and testified during Donald Trump's hush money trial on Monday, May 13.

The former loyalist of Trump has claimed it was Melania Trump’s idea to spin ‘Access Hollywood’ tape as "locker room talk."

"We needed to put a spin on this. The spin he wanted to put on it was that this was 'locker room talk,' something that Melania had recommended — or, at least, he told me that’s what Melania had thought it was — and use that in order to get control over the story and to minimize its impact on him and his campaign," Cohen shared during his testimony.

Stormy Daniels claimed Donald Trump told her not to 'worry' over Melania

Things got worse for him after it was reported that Cohen paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to remain silent, and it was falsely recorded as a legal expense to avoid campaign finance reporting requirements, reported CNN.

In 2018, Cohen received a three-year prison sentence for his role in the scheme. Daniels testified last week in the trial and told the jury that she had a sexual encounter with Donald Trump in 2006. The former adult actress also alleged that he told her not to “worry” about his wife Melania.

The former president was frustrated by Daniels' story resurfacing because he thought Cohen had dealt with the matter previously.

Internet trolls Melania Trump over allegedly suggesting 'locker room talk' spin to 'Access Hollywood' tape

Cohen testified and claimed Melania suggested a spin on 'Access Hollywood' tape.

An X user said, “She acted like she was struggling, even pronouncing the phrase.” Another commented, "The dude went to prison for lying so...."

"Let’s face it, Melania is a weak, criminal woman in her own right!" a user remarked, and another online user echoed, "She's probably the only one of them to have been in a locker room..."

One shared, "I don’t see her as that clever, if he said it was Ivanka’s idea, I would believe that."
