NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: HBO host Bill Maher focused his criticism on Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif), during his quasi-roast of possible Biden successors on Friday night, July 12.

In the most recent edition of 'Real Time with Bill Maher', the host said, "Biden is toast," going over several potential successors and outlining their advantages and disadvantages.

Maher delivered the worst jabs to both Harris and Newsom, reasoning why they most likely won't be visiting the White House.

Bill Maher says VP Kamala Harris 'has never been popular'

"Harris has never been popular. You can count the number of delegates she won in the 2020 primaries on one hand, as long as that hand has no fingers," Bill Maher quipped, per Fox News.

Maher began the segment by warning the Democratic Party that Biden "is not going to be the Democrats' candidate in 2024" and urged them to "stop f***ing around" and start finding a replacement for him right away. The comedian declared, "Biden is toast," before listing Harris as the first possible Biden replacement.

Bill Maher asserts VP Kamala Harris is 'Plan B'

"She won't just protect Plan B, she is plan B," Bill Maher jokingly remarked, referring to Kamala Harris' pro-abortion credentials.

Mentioning her appeal as a diverse candidate, the host said, "Harris would be the first woman president, the first Black woman president and first Asian president." However, he immediately discounted those attributes, stating, "But I don’t vote for who will be the first. I vote for who will win."

Maher continued by bringing up her poor performance in elections before making the joke that as vice president, "she's been quieter than an electric car."

"It's not fair that she's not popular, she's intelligent and accomplished, and in fact, was put in charge of the border and look at how - okay, bad example," the host continued, delivering one last jab of mockery at Harris.

Bill Maher's cheap shot at Gov Gavin Newsom

The HBO host then introduced Gavin Newsom as the "only governor, with the possible exception of Kristi Noem, who looks like he could do porn."

He also joked about Newsom being so eager to be the man that replaces Biden, that he "gets an alert on his phone every time Biden can’t think of a word."

Bill Maher hammers Gov Gavin Newsom over his state’s homeless population problem

Bill Maher admonished Gavin Newsom about the homelessness issue in his state, saying, "They’ll attack him on California’s homeless problem, but there’s a response to that: the homeless can live anywhere, but they choose California."

"Nine out of ten machete-wielding meth addicts say they wouldn’t be unhoused anywhere else," Maher added.

Bill Maher, however, praises Gov Gavin Newsom

As opposed to his treatment of Kamala Harris, Bill Maher gave some genuine praise to Gavin Newsom before moving on to the other candidates, stating, "Newsom is the best communicator in the party with a history of standing up to bullies, and his name lends itself to the best slogan since ‘I like Ike’ – ‘I’m Havin’ Gavin.’"

The HBO host then went through other potential replacements, like Gov Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich), and US Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, though hardly made a joke at their expense, except for saying the latter is "only ten years old" and "checks the liberals’ gay best friend box."
