Billy Ray Cyrus shares cryptic image of word ‘fraud’ encircled by rose petals amid Firerose divorce
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billy Ray Cyrus seems to have put his thoughts about his ongoing divorce from Firerose into a single word as the country music star posted a cryptic message on social media.
Cyrus initially filed for divorce on May 22, citing "inappropriate marital conduct" and "irreconcilable differences."
Cyrus and Firerose were married for a short while—just seven months—after they began dating in 2022.
Billy Ray Cyrus' cryptic remarks about bitter divorce from Firerose
As per People, Cyrus, 62, uploaded a new image on his Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 30, featuring the word "Fraud" over a lit candle with a gold frame surrounding it and red rose petals falling all around.
The musician also posted a picture of himself on a motorcycle earlier that day, which was taken by his daughter Noah Cyrus.
The caption read, "Happy Sunday everybody! Don’t believe I’ve ever heard the word LIAR this much on Sunday morning. I’m sure very soon the truth will be revealed."
Cyrus' post was prompted by Firerose, 35, who had made fresh allegations of violence and coercion directed at her estranged spouse.
Cyrus filed an emergency motion on June 13, alleging that Firerose had made approximately $100,000 in unauthorized "fraudulent" charges on his credit card and requesting a temporary restraining order to disallow her.
Firerose's counsel called the charges "untrue and in a response filed on June 14, Firerose stated that she had been the "victim of extreme verbal, emotional and psychological" abuse, per Billboard.
Firerose reveals Billy Ray Cyrus' 'strict rules' and calls him 'an evil man'
In a recent interview, Firerose talked about her "abusive" relationship with the 'Achy Breaky Heart' star and said that he put "strict rules" on her.
The Australian musician—real name is Johanna Rose Hodges—claimed in a Page Six interview that Cyrus put her through "systematic isolation and I couldn’t find the courage to leave".
She told the media outlet, "Billy had very strict rules. I didn’t have a car. I was only allowed to go to the local chiropractor and allowed once a month to get my nails done. It was systematic isolation and I couldn’t find the courage to leave."
Firerose claimed that Cyrus forced her to "read out" her texts "for permission" before she could send them and that she was banned from seeing friends and family.
She also claimed to the outlet that Cyrus had cut her off "from every single person in my life" except her sponsor in Alcoholics Anonymous, saying, "It was the same for email."
According to Firerose, the stress got to the point where, two days before their October wedding, she passed out and had to be brought to the hospital.
She said that Cyrus would give her the silent treatment for several hours, perhaps even days. "I withdrew …I was afraid to talk," Firerose claimed.
Firerose, who stated she is sober at the moment, anticipates her estranged spouse using the events of the "very dark years" before her recovery as the divorce process moves forward.
She said, "I think he will use every single thing against me. He’s an evil man."
Similar accusations were made by the 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer in his June 17 divorce files, which were an addition to his initial May 23 annulment request.
Cyrus claimed that Firerose "had been conducting a campaign to isolate" him from his family and prevented him from speaking with one of his daughters in the documents previously obtained by People.
