Blake Lively calls Ryan Reynolds her ‘human Barbie’, shares photo of him with floral handbag
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively, known for channeling her inner Barbie with bright and bold outfits, shared an image of her husband Ryan Reynolds dressed up in a knitted button-down shirt, spectacles, a flat cap and a handbag covered in daisy appliques.
Lively captioned the Instagram Story with Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl,’ calling Reynolds her "human-sized Barbie," a nod to the 3ft dolls that were especially popular in the 90s when she was a child. Her post coincided with the release of Reynolds’ new Apple TV movie, ‘Mayday’.

In ‘Mayday’, Reynolds plays a US pilot who builds an unlikely friendship with an eccentric ex-KGB agent, played by Kenneth Branagh, who is obsessed with 80s American culture. His comments about the decade appeared to irritate reality star Spencer Pratt.
In a recent interview with Variety, Reynolds described the 80s as tumultuous and traumatic, explaining that when people look back at a distinct period from far enough away, they often associate it with positive feelings while forgetting its trauma.
Speaking on the red carpet at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City on Tuesday, Reynolds said the 80s were a ‘brutal, brutal time for people’ and described the decade as a "mess." He pointed to tremendous strife, socio-political tensions and the fact that the Cuban Missile Crisis had occurred only 15 to 20 years earlier.
Reynolds added that people now look back at the decade and think of ‘Top Gun’ and despite how frightening the period was. He suggested that people looking back at 2026 might similarly focus on "big ticket items" that did not leave the cultural footprint expected.'
He also described the 2000s as feeling like a mix of previous decades, while saying the decade before had been its "own thing." Reynolds predicted the "COVID era" would eventually be viewed through rose-colored glasses, adding, "We're living in the salad days. We just don't know it."
Pratt responded on X, writing that while he was trying to bring back American film jobs, comments like Reynolds’ were making "every normal American hate them." He called Hollywood its "own worst enemy" and told him to "stick to the Cricket wireless ads, dude."
Blake Lively faces fresh attention amid Justin Baldoni legal battle
Lively’s post came after Candace Owens shared a photo from a random encounter with Justin Baldoni at an airport in Iceland. Owens described the meeting as having an approximate one-in-100-million chance and captioned the selfie with "#Cousins," referencing her support for Baldoni amid his public feud with Lively.
She also added, "NOBODY messes with my cousin." Owens later shared the photo to her Instagram Stories with Taylor Swift’s ‘My Tears Ricochet,’ which was used in ‘It Ends With Us’. Lively and Swift were previously close friends before their high-profile falling out.
On Wednesday, a New York judge ruled Lively would receive just five percent, or $400,000, of the $8 million she sought to recoup for defending herself against Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit. The judge described hours billed by Lively’s lawyers as "unreasonable" and criticized discrepancies in the expenses.
The ruling followed the dismissal of most claims in Lively’s harassment case against Baldoni, with the pair later agreeing to settle without money changing hands. Judge Lewis Liman had previously dismissed Baldoni’s defamation countersuit against Lively but allowed her to seek legal fees related solely to defending that action.
Lively sued Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios in December 2024 for alleged harassment on the set of ‘It Ends With Us’ and defamation. Baldoni responded the following month with a lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and The New York Times, which had first published her claims.
