LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman has once again proved that he’s a gentleman. During the 2026 Met Gala on May 4, the ‘Logan’ star did not shy away from helping his friend Blake Lively out of a tight spot.

The 57-year-old Australian actor discussed several behind-the-scenes moments from the A-list evening, and one of them involved Ryan Reynolds’ actress wife, Lively.

Hugh Jackman says he took permission from Ryan Reynolds mentally

During a Wednesday, May 6, appearance on ‘Today With Jenna & Sheinelle’, Jackman shared that the ‘Gossip Girl’ star needed his help in fixing her massive archival Atelier Versace gown from spring 2006. He did help her, but not without taking permission from her husband.

“There was another cool moment — I'm literally, as I'm saying it, thinking maybe you shouldn't say this — but Blake, my good friend Blake Lively, goes, ‘Dude, I need some help with the dress. I think there's a hook in there,’” Jackman recalled.

“And I'm like, ‘OK,' I'm like, ‘Ryan [Reynolds], is this cool? Checking. Are we good?’” the ‘X-Men’ actor said as he suggested he sent a mental message to the ‘Deadpool’ star.

He also jokingly added that he even got a reply from his co-star, and it was: “Go for it, brother.”

Though Jackman was with his girlfriend, Sutton Foster, for the annual event, Lively came alone just hours after reports said she and Justin Baldoni had settled their contentious legal battle.

In a joint statement, the ‘It Ends With Us’ co-stars had said, “The end product — the movie It Ends With Us — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”

“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms Lively deserved to be heard,” they added.

The statement released via their attorneys also noted that both the stars “remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments.”

“It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online,” it asserted.

Hugh Jackman shares details about Beyonce and Blue Ivy's sweet moment

Meanwhile, during his time on ‘Today With Jenna & Sheinelle’, Jackman also gave details about another important moment from the Met Gala.

He saw Beyonce in tears as Stevie Nicks performed.

“Sabrina Carpenter gets up, and Stevie Nicks comes out. Stevie Nicks came out and sang. I'm gonna do some more name-dropping, but there was Beyonce and Rihanna, and I look over and Beyonce was just hitting her daughter, who was there, and just had tears in her eyes. I was like, that moment right there, that was priceless,” Jackman mentioned.
