NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: It seems Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni finally decided to settle their long feud. After roughly 18 months of legal back-and-forth, the 'It Ends With Us' co-stars are now working toward settling their issues, just weeks before their case was set to go to trial in NYC.

On Sunday, May 4, both parties reached an agreement to resolve Lively’s breach of contract and retaliation claims. The development was confirmed to USA Today by a spokesperson for Wayfarer Studios, the company co-founded by Baldoni. However, the exact details of the settlement were unspecified.

Soon after news of their settlement broke, Blake Lively was spotted attending the 2026 Met Gala.

They also acknowledged that the process came with challenges and important concerns. “We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms Lively deserved to be heard,” Bryan Freedman, Ellyn Garofalo, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson said, as per the publication.

The statement further emphasized a shared commitment to maintaining a respectful environment. “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”

Why were Blake Lively’s lawsuits dismissed?

For those still catching up, a key question has been why several of Blake Lively’s claims were dismissed. The decision came in April, about a month before the trial was scheduled to begin on May 18.

The judge reviewed the case and dismissed most of Lively’s claims after Justin Baldoni’s legal team sought to limit the scope of the trial. Her lawsuit included allegations such as harassment, defamation, and invasion of privacy.

However, a few claims were allowed to continue. The court approved three of them to move forward: breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting retaliation. The remaining claims were dismissed.

One of Hollywood’s most widely discussed disputes involved Lively and Baldoni, who worked together on the 2024 adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel 'It Ends With Us'. Lively and Baldoni, who both starred in the film, with Baldoni also directing, became the focus as more details began to emerge.

In January, hundreds of previously sealed documents were released, offering a closer look at the situation. The materials included messages connected to several well-known figures, including Taylor Swift, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and co-stars Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrer.
