WASHINGTON, DC: Body language experts Scott Rouse and Greg Hartley claimed ABC News hosts who moderated the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris showed a 'clear bias' against the GOP nominee, during their conversation with Dr Phil in a special post-debate town hall broadcast on Tuesday, September 10.

The first debate between the current GOP and Democratic nominee was held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, moderated by 'World News Tonight' anchor David Muir and 'ABC News Live Prime' anchor Linsey Davis.

According to the New York Post, Hartley is a former Army interrogator with expertise in intelligence, business, body language, and behavior, while Rouse holds multiple certificates in advanced interrogation training. The latter has trained alongside the FBI, Secret Service, US Military Intelligence, and the Department of Defense.

ABC moderators' hostility to Donald Trump

"Let’s just look at body language, look at the facial expressions of people when they’re looking at Trump. There was clearly a bias against Trump in their faces,” Hartley told Dr Phil on the show.

"There’s a little bit of a thumb on the scale when you ask one person two questions in a row as the primary question, and it’s a softball question that feels like bias to me," he shared for Harris. "I would challenge them to tell me why that’s not biased if I were in his situation.”

Rouse highlighted the fact that the moderators were willing to interrupt Trump throughout the evening, stating, "At the same time, we’re seeing the commentators, they would be speaking at the same time President Trump was. So as he’s trying to finish his answer, they would keep- they would not only answer, they would keep talking as well."

He further suggested that the microphone in front of the former president may have been "hotter" than the others, which made him sond louder and "more aggressive."

Dr Phil remarked how many of Trump's questions had a follow-up and his responses were fact-checked, unlike Harris. He was backed by Hartley, who later added, "There’s a more negative tone often towards Trump... I thought it was a little heavy-handed at times, just my opinion.”

Internet questions ABC News' credibility

Netizens especially conservatives, reacting to the conversation on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), slammed the ABC network for allegedly being partial to Harris. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"ABC has literally no credibility left. That was a drive by debate," wrote a user.

"Making Trump's mic louder than Kamala's to make him sound aggressive is a pretty dirty trick there ABC," shared another.

"The crooked corrupt biased media helping rig an election again… would ya look at that," jibed a third.

"I don't even think the ABC would deny their bias at this point," chided a fourth.

"@ABC you are nothing but political hacks who run cover for the Left," mocked a fifth.

"Any fool could see what was happening," expressed another with a meme.
