Britney Spears stormed out of LA hotel fearing mom Lynne had 'set up' paramedic call, reveals insider
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: According to insiders, Britney Spears had a severe panic attack and "flipped out" at Chateau Marmont because she thought her mother Lynne Spears had called the paramedics on her.
This occurred only minutes after Britney had asserted she was mentally fine but had seriously injured her ankle.
Later, she accused her mother Lynne, 60, and claimed that she was being a "set up", posting images of her swollen foot on Instagram and vehemently denying that she was having a breakdown, Daily Mail reported.
What truly set off Britney Spears' 'breakdown' at Chateau Marmont hotel?
The 42-year-old singer raised concerns that she was going through a mental breakdown when spotted by paramedics being led out of Chateau in the early hours of Thursday, May 2—clutching a pillow and only wearing a blanket and underwear.
Insiders have now exposed the truth about the disturbing incident, stating that minutes before Britney's mother Lynne had called 911 and inquired if her daughter was "mentally fine."
A source revealed to the outlet, "Britney was crying in pain and she called Lynne in Louisiana to tell her what had happened. At the time, Lynne was the only one who knew that she had hurt herself."
"Lynne asked Britney if she was okay mentally and Britney told her mom that she was fine and it was just her ankle," the source continued.
"Lynne called 911 and told them that Britney was having a breakdown and had injured herself. She knew that Britney was in a traumatized state," the source added.
The source further added that the 'Toxic' singer—who was at the hotel with her rumored boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz—was determined to get away.
Britney Spears was reportedly being escorted out of the Chateau Marmont early Thursday morning following what some outlets are reporting as a "mental health crisis." She was accompanied by Paul Richard Soliz.

The pop queen appeared unkempt in photos taken the night of the incident, covered in a blanket and barefoot.
These images brought back memories of her infamous 2008 breakdown, which resulted in an involuntary 5150 hold and a 13-year conservatorship.
The insider explained her outfit and said it had nothing to do with her mental health.
"When the ambulance arrived at the Chateau, they went directly to Britney's room and told her that they needed to make sure that she was okay after someone had called the paramedics," the source said.
They continued, "When Britney looked out, she saw the ambulance and the gurney and she flipped out. She had a severe panic attack because seeing a gurney for her is traumatizing, for obvious reasons."
"Britney then grabbed a blanket and a pillow, leaving her belongings at the hotel. She did not have shoes on because her ankle was injured. She was not going to get in an ambulance and was not about to get checked out by them for an injured ankle," the insider explained.
The source added, "She [Britney] said, 'I am getting the f***k out of here.' She walked past the ambulance and got into a ride that was waiting for her out front. She did not return to the Chateau."
Britney shared a video of her injured ankle on Instagram while refuting rumors that she had a mental breakdown and blamed her mother Lynne in the caption.
