"I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book," she wrote.

In her tell-all, the Grammy winner opened up about her failed romance with Timberlake. She claimed in the book that she had a painful at-home abortion during her relationship with Timberlake.

"I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated," she wrote.

"Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young," Spears added.

Following the release of her bombshell memoir, an insider told ET of Timberlake's response to Spears' claims, "Justin has been focusing on his own family and trying not to concern himself with Britney’s memoir. In recent years, Justin has tried to be supportive of Britney from a distance."

"They dated so long ago, but he still has respect for her. Justin and [wife] Jessica Biel just want everyone to grow and evolve instead of continuing to bring up the past," the source said in October 2023.

However, fans of Spears have initiated a concerted effort to boost her 2011 song 'Selfish' against Timberlake's new single of the same name in the wake of her confessions.

The retaliation has propelled the vintage 'Selfish' song to the top 40 of the US iTunes chart with aspirations to break into the top 10.

Meanwhile, Timberlake showcased both 'Selfish' and 'Sanctified' during his recent performance on 'Saturday Night Live.'
