Britney Spears' son Sean Preston drops Federline from Instagram name, adds Spears in nod to mom
THOUSAND OAKS, CALIFORNIA: Sean Preston, the eldest son of Britney Spears, has made a subtle but noticeable change online by updating his Instagram name. The 20-year-old recently dropped “Federline” from his handle and added “Spears,” sparking curiosity among fans about the move.
The update was spotted on Friday, April 3, when his handle reflected the change to “Sean P Spears.” However, it later appeared that he adjusted it again to include only his first and middle names. There is no indication that he has made any legal changes to his name. The move appears to be a personal choice, with no official statement from Sean Preston or his family explaining the reason behind it.
Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline share two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, 19.
Britney Spears shares moments with her sons
While the update is limited to social media, it stands out given the public interest surrounding Britney and her relationship with her children.
In recent weeks, the pop star has been posting more content featuring her children, giving fans a glimpse into their time together.
On March 30, Britney shared a video of her dancing and posing with her sons on a yacht. "It’s all about that look," she captioned the post. Sean Preston and Jayden James were seen in white T-shirts, while Britney wore a pink top and white shorts.
On March 27, she shared a video on Instagram with Jayden James. In the clip, the teenager filmed himself and his mother as they posed together in front of a mirror.
Jayden was seen wearing a long tan coat over a white T-shirt, while Spears wore white lace shorts paired with a cropped lace top.
The video later showed Spears in a different outfit, switching to jeans and a blazer as they continued posing.
“Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing !!!,” she wrote in the caption. “Stay kind !!!”
Britney Spears' earlier post with son Jayden James
Britney has also shared earlier moments with her sons, including a reunion last June. At the time, she posted a photo and video of herself with Jayden after they attended church together.
In the picture, Jayden stood taller than his mother as they posed closely on a balcony, with him holding a phone to capture the moment. A short video from the same day showed the pair smiling and enjoying time together.
She revealed that they had “Sang and praised !!!” earlier that day, adding a personal touch to the moment.
The renewed focus on family comes after a difficult moment earlier this year.
Spears was arrested on March 4 in Ventura, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Following the incident, her representative said that the singer would be prioritizing her two sons.
