Bunnie Xo sheds light on Jelly Roll's daughter Bailee Ann’s emotional state amid their divorce
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bunnie Xo has spoken about Jelly Roll’s daughter’s emotional state amid her and the country star’s divorce.
The podcaster and Jelly tied the knot in 2016 and have since co-parented his two children — daughter Bailee Ann DeFord and son Noah "Buddy" DeFord — from earlier relationships. But in May, Jelly filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.
Bunnie Xo says transition is difficult for Bailee Ann
After news of the divorce filing came out, it was said that Bailee Ann unfollowed her stepmom on social media. Bunnie, however, is not sad or angry and has claimed to understand the teenager’s situation.
On the Thursday, June 18, episode of her ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast, she explained, “The only woman she has had consistently in her life, she feels, is being taken from her, and it's a weird transition that we're going to have to navigate."
“Of course she's mad at me because I was always the f**king disciplining parent in the relationship because he's f**king fun dad all the time,” Bunnie added.
Bunnie Xo understands Bailee Ann is going to 'have emotions'
Continuing, the 46-year-old noted, “She's mad at her dad because of what he did. And hello, she f**king deserves to feel that way. So, she's going to have emotions. She's going to unfollow me on f**king Instagram, and then she's going to text me back the next day and tell me to follow her back. That's just how it is right now.”
Bunnie also asserted that she’ll always be there for Bailee Ann. “I don't care. That's my baby. I love her. If she wants to be mad at me for f**king two years, I'll deal with it. But when she's ready to come back, I will always be here for her,” she added.
Bunnie Xo says Bailee Ann wants empathy amid family drama
The media producer also clarified why she is speaking on behalf of the 18-year-old.
Bunnie said, “Her big thing is, and I get this, is we need more empathy in this world and people need to stop treating us the way that they're treating us because we are human. She's like, 'I get that we're public figures, but at the same, stop expecting so much from us because you don't deserve it.’”
Bunnie's remarks came after Bailee slammed people online as her parents’ divorce continued to make headlines.
In a TikTok post on Tuesday, she said, “I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter. Go on somewhere. Worry about your house not mine. I'm not speaking on it yet.”
