Candace Owens defends Harrison Butker's 'homemaker' remark, slams Jason Kelce for 'recoiling' from phrase
WASHINGTON, DC: Candace Owens has stepped into the controversy surrounding Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's recent "homemaker" comment, directing criticism towards Jason Kelce in the process.
At Turning Point USA's Young Women's Leadership Summit on June 8, Owens expressed her support for Butker's remarks regarding women's preference for being homemakers. Not only did Owens endorse Butker's stance, but she also took a swipe at Jason, who had voiced disagreement with Butker's statement.
Candace Owens takes issue with Jason Kelce
Speaking about Jason's reaction, Owens remarked, "I just thought to myself, Jason Kelce, what do you not agree with specifically? What is it that he said that you don't agree with? And then people came at him and were like, 'Hey man, like your wife is a homemaker. That's literally what your wife does', and he totally recoiled to the phrase 'homemaker'."
Following the controversy stirred by Butker's comments, Jason, along with his brother Travis Kelce, addressed the issue on their podcast, 'New Heights', released on June 24. Jason expressed his disapproval of Butker's suggestion that women should prioritize homemaking after earning a degree.
"I've had so many people ask me, 'What would you do if your daughters had to sit there and listen to somebody tell them after they just earned a degree that they should just go to a line to be homemakers? And I would say if my daughters listen to anybody tell them what to do — that they should be homemakers — then I failed as a dad," Jason claimed.
Responding to Kelce's viral opinion, fans took to social media to troll him, referencing his wife as a homemaker. In defense of his wife, Kylie Kelce, Jason took to Twitter to clarify their family dynamic and reject the homemaker label.
"I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals who are figuring it out on the daily," Jason stated in his tweet.
Responding to this, because I have seen a number of people say it. I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals… https://t.co/TnNsTW4o4B

"If being a homemaker works for some, and that’s what they want, then hell yea, that’s awesome, more power to you. I want to be clear, I’m not downplaying that at all, but that is not our family dynamic," he concluded.
Your wife is in fact homemaker, you just don’t like the label because you’ve been brainwashed by radical feminists (like the one your brother is dating) to believe it’s a dirty word that implies inequality.
