Casey Anthony case: George and Cindy Anthony feel 'vindicated' by lie detector test, claimss source
ORLANDO, FLORIDA: Casey Anthony's parents George and Cindy Anthony are pleased with the recent TV documentary in which they answered questions regarding their granddaughter Caylee's 2008 murder while taking a lie detector test.
Special Agent Olivo saw George and Cindy's reactions to each other's answers and the outcomes of the lie detector tests. Olivo did not watch the documentary before it was telecasted on January 4.
Anthony family feels 'vindicated'
According to an individual close to the Anthony family, "they feel vindicated."
"They told the truth, and now everyone knows that it was the truth. And that the only liar when it comes to this case is Casey," the source added.
Earlier this month, the pair appeared in an A&E documentary titled 'Casey Anthony's Parents: The Lie Detector Test', The Messenger News reported.
The episode featured footage of George and Cindy being put through a polygraph test and having to respond to tough questions concerning the events leading up to Caylee's death and disappearance more than 15 years prior.
George denied Casey's allegations that he had sexually assaulted her when she was a child and that he was to blame for Caylee's death.
In addition, his daughter claimed that George had dumped Caylee's body in a wooded area close to the house.
Casey Anthony arrested in connection with disappearance of daughter Caylee
In 2008, Casey was arrested in connection with the disappearance of her daughter Caylee. The child was allegedly last seen on June 16, 2008, but Casey's mother didn't report her missing until July 15.
When Caylee disappeared with a babysitter, Casey first reported this to the police.
Volunteers looked for the toddler nationwide for almost six months, following hundreds of leads.
A utility worker found skeletal remains in a wooded area close to Casey's Florida home on December 11. These remains were subsequently determined to be Caylee's.
According to expert testimony, there were decomposing human remains in Casey's trunk based on air sample analysis. The media widely covered a murder suspect Casey's 2011 trial.
Accused of homicide, Casey's 2011 trial turned into a public spectacle. Prosecutors presented evidence of Casey's dishonesty but had difficulty persuading the jury of much else.
The government couldn't establish the cause of Caylee's death, and Casey's DNA was not found on the duct tape allegedly used in her suffocation.
