NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla) joined host Laura Ingraham to talk about his bid for the position of Senate GOP Leader replacing Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky), on the Thursday, May 23 episode of 'The Ingraham Angle.'

The duo also discussed former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley officially announcing that she would be voting for former President Donald Trump instead of incumbent Joe Biden in the upcoming election, with the Senator being surprised that she took this long to come to the decision.

When Ingraham asked what he was offering in going after the leadership position, Scott stated, "We need a sea change." He claimed to have talked to the presumptive GOP nominee about throwing his hat in the ring and said that the latter was excited about it.

"Think about it, debt, the border, everything, we have been allowing this to happen. I am a change agent. I was a change agent in business, I did turnarounds. I changed Florida. And we're going to change the Senate. We're going to be the Senate that helps Donald Trump get his conservative agenda done," he said.

"Conservative voters want to stand for something. Like let's stand and fight over the border, let's stand and fight over spending, let's stand and fight over making sure Israel gets help, but we don't waste all our money ... We're going to have a real appropriations process and we're going to figure out how to balance the budget," Scott later added.

Rick Scott says it's 'about time' Nikki Haley supports Donald Trump

"About time," mentioned Scott as Ingraham asked him to share his take on Haley's announcement to vote for Trump on Thursday. "I don't know what took so long."

He went on to elaborate on the widespread support enjoyed by the former President saying, "Think about it, the border was secure, we didn't have inflation, we weren't at war. It's pretty easy to see why everybody backs him. I can tell you (that) in Florida, I've been all around the state doing grassroots because I am up this cycle, everybody is for Trump, all the grassroots."
