OREM, UTAH: The man accused of gunning down conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk apparently couldn’t resist cracking jokes about it online just hours after the tragedy.

Tyler Robinson, 22, allegedly hopped into a private Discord chat just hours after Kirk was fatally shot, mocking the manhunt and taunting the feds. According to messages obtained by The New York Times, Robinson even joked about cashing in on the FBI’s reward money before eventually turning himself in.

Robinson has since been cuffed and ID’d as the prime suspect in Kirk’s murder.

In the chat, Tyler Robinson seemed to revel in the chaos while authorities scrambled.

“Tyler killed Charlie!!!!” one user typed, tagging him.

Robinson didn’t flinch. “My doppelganger’s trying to get me in trouble,” he fired back.

That morbid gag landed just hours after the FBI released grainy stills of a young man in sunglasses and a ball cap walking through a Utah Valley University stairwell, the spot where Kirk had been speaking. The suspect wasn’t yet named publicly, but Robinson was already toying with the truth.

The Times verified the messages, which show Robinson fully aware of the feds’ hunt and trolling it every step of the way.

When someone joked about turning him in for the FBI’s $100,000 reward, Robinson quipped, “Only if I get a cut.”

Another user warned him not to make a McDonald’s run, a nod to fugitive Luigi Mangione’s arrest there last December. Robinson piled on, “Better also get rid of this manifesto and exact copy rifle I have lying around.”

Tyler Robinson's twisted victory lap

The Discord room reportedly had about 20 people, mostly old classmates and online pals of Tyler Robinson.

While conservatives were posting tributes and President Donald Trump issued a national proclamation, Robinson was behind his screen spinning memes about politics and fake deaths.

“I’m actually Charlie Kirk. Wanted to get outta politics so I faked my death, now I can live out my dream life in Kansas,” he wrote in one message.

As nonstop coverage played out, Robinson appeared to be keeping tabs in real time.

“I heard the ammo had somethin about trans stuff on it, but they aren't releasing photos or exact quotes, and also the claim wasn’t backed by the official FBI, just some dude in the briefing room,” he wrote in another.

Later, authorities confirmed the shell casings were etched with phrases like “Hey fascist! CATCH!” (lyrics from an anti-fascist Italian song) plus a sexually explicit meme reference.

But the 22-year-old was already riffing about media spin. “In a red state??? Nah, CLEARLY the shooter was from California,” he typed.

One of his last gags before the cuffs came out was a nod to Jon Arbuckle, Garfield’s hapless owner and Robinson’s Discord avatar.

From chatroom jokes to murder charges

Even as evidence piled up, some chat members couldn’t believe it when the arrest happened.

“Our governor wants to give him the death penalty, dude,” one wrote.

“I truly cannot distinguish if this is for real,” another admitted.

Kirk, 31, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, was killed on Wednesday, September 10, during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. Police say the shooter climbed onto a rooftop a few hundred feet from the venue, fired a single fatal shot, and fled campus.

Robinson later implied or outright confessed to the killing, then surrendered in southwestern Utah, which is a three-hour drive from the scene. His family reportedly urged him to come clean and convinced him to turn himself in.

Prosecutors are expected to file formal charges on Tuesday, including aggravated murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
