Charlie Sheen's neighbor was accused of abusing elderly mom months before attack on actor

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: According to court records exclusively obtained, the woman who attacked actor Charlie Sheen had been arrested previously for allegedly abusing her mother.

After reportedly choking the 'Two and a Half Men' actor inside his Los Angeles home on December 20, 2023, Electra Schrock gained global attention when she was accused of assault with a dangerous weapon and burglary.

However, on December 26, Schrock entered a not-guilty plea at her arraignment. She was asked by the court to keep her distance from the actor and his house by way of a criminal protection order.

Electra Schrock, nee Poag, is formally accused of 'felony assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury'. The initial charge of 'assault with a deadly weapon with force' had been dropped.

Electra Schrock was earlier arrested for misdemeanor elder abuse

According to the criminal complaint filed by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, nine months prior, Schrock, 47, was taken into county jail on a misdemeanor elder abuse charge for allegedly putting her 75-year-old mother, who suffers from dementia, in danger.

According to the criminal complaint submitted on March 28, 2023, Schrock was charged with "knowingly and willfully cause and permit the victim, Candace Nyhus Poag, an elder and dependent adult, to suffer, and inflected therein unjustifiable physical pain and mental suffering," per Radar Online.

Schrock reportedly knew and reasonably should have known that her mother, Candace, was an elderly and dependent adult, and she allowed her to be "placed in a situation in which HER health was endangered".

Furthermore, Candace is the focus of an investigation by the Homicide Division of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department after her family reported her missing, as per a missing person's flyer obtained by the outlet.

Poag was last seen in Malibu at 1.46 pm on July 29, 2023, and it is suspected that she was traveling to Woodland Hills, per the missing person's alert.

According to LASD Detective S. Rincon, Poag was eventually found and taken off the missing persons' list.

Documents indicate following her arrest for elder abuse, Schrock was finally freed on a $25,000 bond. On November 14, 2023, she attended the pre-trial diversion program, and her case was temporarily dismissed.

Electra Schrock pleaded not guilty to attacking Charlie Sheen

The pre-trial diversion program arrangement was disrupted when Electra Schrock allegedly broke into Sheen's house, tore his shirt, and tried to strangle him over a protracted neighborly argument.

After prosecutors told Judge John Reid about the abuse case, the 'Platoon' star was given a protective order against Schrock, who is still being held in jail on a $75,000 bond. Schrock entered a not-guilty plea.

Despite being accused of choking Sheen and ripping off his shirt during the alleged attack, one of Schrock's friends defended her.

The acquaintance said the actor's neighbor in Malibu is a Buddhist who "wouldn't hurt a fly," and he believed the actor's alleged attacker is "being set up," per Radar Online.

"Electra is an attractive, kind woman who wouldn't hurt a fly," remarked Schrock's close friend. "She's a Buddhist. She's a peaceful person. She's being set up," adding that she volunteers with multiple children's charities.
