LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Charlie Sheen's neighbor has been arrested and charged with assault after she tried to strangle him on Wednesday, December 20.

The 47-year-old woman who hasn't been named also ripped 'The Two and Half Men' star's shirt and tried to strangle him, TMZ reported.

The incident happened after the woman "forced her way" into the 58-year-old's home and attacked the 'Hot Shots!' star after he opened the door "after hearing the knock," officers told the publication.

The woman then went back to her own house. Even as paramedics were called to the scene, Charlie was not transported to the hospital. The incident has Charlie wondering what prompted the incident as per the report. 

 Charlie Sheen had issues with his neighbor before

Even as Charlie Sheen is unable to understand the reason and rage behind the 47-year-old's assault on him, the issue reportedly wasn't first.

The report suggests that the 'Good Advice' actor's neighbor has been enraged over something as she had dumped trash in front of the 'No Code of Conduct' star's door just a day before the attack. 

The 'Platoon' actor also believes that the same woman had "squirted some type of sticky liquid on his car recently." A source told the publication that the 'Wall Street' star spoke to the woman about the car accident, "and their conversation was something to the effect of letting bygones be bygones."

Following the assault, Charlie called 911 after which the the officers from LASD arrived.

The "woman was eventually arrested at her home," the report stated. It said the woman was booked for assault with deadly weapon and burglary for allegedly "forcing her way into the home and attacking him."

Charlie Sheen struggled with addiction but has been sober for six years 

It comes days after Charlie Sheen revealed that he’s nearly six years sober and feeling good after quitting alcohol to focus on raising his children.

“Next month I’ll be six years sober,” the “Two and a Half Men” alum told People in December. “I have a very consistent lifestyle now. It’s all about single dad stuff, and raising my 14-year-old twin boys Max and Bob.”

Charlie “loved drinking in the morning” and often mixed “scotch in the coffee.” Now, Sheen has a different lifestyle. He gets up “around 4.30 or 5 am” to “get an early jump on the news, work out, answer emails” and prepare his children for the day. He also joked that he assists his children with their morning routine, “if you can call it a routine.”

The 58-year-old shares the twins with his former wife Brooke Mueller. He has three daughters as well: Sami, 19, and Lola, 18, with Denise Richards, another ex-wife, and Cassandra, 38, with Paula Profit, his high school sweetheart.
