WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr and his allies took a peculiar approach at the Libertarian Party convention in Washington on Saturday, May 25, as they distributed rubber chickens to attendees.

The independent presidential candidate urged supporters to squawk the toy during Donald Trump's speech in an effort to provoke the ex-POTUS into debating him, as reported by the New York Post.

Fox News journalist Alexis McAdams was the first to report the incident live from the Washington Hilton, where the convention took place. She showcased one of the yellow chickens on air, which had "Debate Bobby" written on it in black ink.

"They say tonight people are going to be squeezing these when Trump is on that stage because they want to take him on, on the debate stage," explained McAdams.

This stunt was RFK Jr's latest effort to pressure Trump and Biden into including him in the upcoming debates. The incumbent and the former president have already agreed to participate in two debates—one on CNN on June 27 and another on ABC on September 10.

Despite RFK Jr's insistence on being included, CNN maintained that he did not meet its requirements. The independent candidate has consistently claimed he should be allowed to debate, accusing both the Trump and Biden campaigns of colluding with CNN to exclude him.

RFK Jr stated, "There's strong evidence that's been reported in the mainstream media of collusion between the Trump campaign, the Biden campaign, particularly the Biden campaign, and CNN."

To meet the criteria for the debate, candidates must garner a minimum of 15 percent support in four different polls approved by CNN and be listed on enough state ballots to potentially achieve 270 electoral votes

In a recent interview with Scripps News, Trump revealed that he would have "no problem" debating RFK Jr if he reached the required polling threshold. The independent candidate is perceived as a potential disruptor for both contenders, and neither Trump nor Biden has demonstrated enthusiasm for engaging with him in a debate setting.

Robert F Kennedy Jr's rubber chicken tactic draws widespread criticism

RFK Jr's rubber chicken tactic to disrupt Trump's speech quickly drew widespread criticism.

One stated, "RFK Jr is a fraud who claims to support freedom of speech," and another remarked, "RFK Jr. is showing his true colors and looking like a giant fool in the process."

A person expressed, "More than a little juvenile. We need a real man in office, not some prankster who is farther left than Dementia Joe!" Someone else declared, "The immaturity is astounding!"

"RFK is acting like a petulant child with this trick," opined an individual, with one more noting, "Childish. Sorry RFK. You don't have a chance against Trump or Biden even."

Another person quipped, "What a freaking child. They know they can’t win so they’ll resort to anything. Including (you guessed it) rubber chickens. Way to go RFK Jr, you’ve just shown Americans what a chicken you truly are!"

"What a serious candidate. Guy is going downhill fast," joked a netizen.
