'Chosen one for the broken ones': Internet mocks Donald Trump as he says he 'aced' recent cognitive exam
CORALVILLE, IOWA: On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, made his third visit to Iowa in the month.
His visit aimed to galvanize his supporters to turn out in large numbers for the first Republican presidential nomination votes at the Iowa caucuses scheduled for January 15, 2024.

Notably, Iowa is the state Trump has visited the most, having been there 11 times since September 2023, more than any other early-voting state, according to The Associated Press.
Trump addressed the 'Commit to Caucus' event in Coralville, near Iowa City, where he delivered a speech that combined a rally and a 'Caucus 101' session.
What did Trump say about his cognitive exam?
According to The Hill, Donald Trump revealed during the Coralville rally that he had recently taken a physical and cognitive examination.
He stated, "I took a physical and I passed with flying colors, and I took a cognitive exam. I said ‘Doctor, give me anything you want, I want to take it.’”

Trump further expressed his opinion that individuals seeking the presidency should be "forced to take" a cognitive exam, taking a swipe at President Biden, whom he claims "cannot pass a cognitive exam".
The former president continued, “But, I took a cognitive exam, and I aced it.”
Trump's declaration that he "aced" the cognitive exam follows his earlier claims that he is mentally fit to hold public office.

Some members of the Republican Party have advocated for the implementation of mandatory mental acuity testing.
One notable proponent of this idea is Nikki Haley, a GOP presidential candidate who shared in a February campaign rally her vision for a political system where career politicians would step down and term limits would be instituted for Congress.
Furthermore, she proposed the adoption of mandatory mental competency examinations for politicians aged 75 and above.
Haley said at the time, “In the America I see, the permanent politician will finally retire. We’ll have term limits for Congress and mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old.”
